Everton manager Roberto Martinez has claimed that there is "no point" discussing rumours linking Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic with a move to Goodison Park.
It has been reported that the 28-year-old has been outlined as a replacement for Tim Howard, who has been linked with a move back to MLS in the United States.
Howard joined Everton from Manchester United in 2007 and has emerged as the Merseyside outfit's number one keeper.
When asked in Thursday's press conference about Everton's rumoured interest in Begovic, Martinez told reporters: "Nothing to comment on that. We have been working for two thirds of the season so there is no point talking about other players.
"There is nothing to comment on Tim Howard, he is a foreign player who has brought so much to the league. The 10 seasons he has had is an incredible contribution."
Begovic has struggled for game time at Chelsea following Thibaut Courtois's return from injury.
