Jose Mourinho admits that he is "happy" to hear of Douglas Costa's "dream" of playing for Chelsea, having been strongly linked with a move for the Brazilian.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has welcomed Douglas Costa's recent comments which saw the Shakhtar Donetsk forward hint that he is keen on a switch to Stamford Bridge this month.

The Blues have been linked with a £16m move for the Brazilian international, who is said to have been on the club's radar since breaking through the ranks with the Ukrainian outfit as a teenager.

Costa admitted that joining the West London outfit "would be a dream", although Mourinho remained coy when asked if a transfer is in the pipeline.

"I am always happy when a player tells us that he would like to play for my club," he told reporters. "I am always happy so the reaction for Douglas Costa is the reaction of being happy with his comments and every Douglas Costa in the world that would like to play for Chelsea. These kind of feelings are always welcome."

Premier League leaders Chelsea have also been linked with Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado, despite boss Vincenzo Montella allegedly claiming that he will quit the Italian club if their star man is allowed to leave.
