Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray has insisted that new signing Josh McEachran will bring "ball retention" to their side.
The 19-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Swansea City, has joined the Championship club until the end of the season.
"He'll bring ball retention - he's a very technical footballer. He's creative and an interesting one for us, because he's a young guy with I think a big future in the English game," he told the BBC.
McEachran has made 11 appearances for Chelsea.
