Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Jorginho.

The former Napoli star has been at Stamford Bridge since the summer of 2018 and has over 200 appearances for the club, but his time may be coming to an end in London.

According to The Daily Mail, Jorginho is a 'prime target' for Eddie Howe's side in the January transfer window.

Furthermore, his deal is set to expire in the summer, meaning that if Chelsea do not agree an extension, he will be free to talk to any foreign clubs in January.

Also, the Blues may want to cash in on the Italian in the upcoming window to avoid losing him for free in the summer.

Given that Chelsea are reportedly leading the race for West Ham United's Declan Rice, the club may decide to allow Jorginho to leave. body check tags ::
