Chelsea and Manchester City have reportedly joined the race to sign Alex Song from Barcelona.
Song has played a key role in the West Ham United midfield during a season-long loan spell from the Spanish giants, but the club are unlikely to make an effort to sign him permanently when the transfer window reopens.
According to the Daily Mail, both Chelsea and City are interested in the 27-year-old, who is likely to be available for around £6m this summer.
The report suggests that both clubs are eager to add more homegrown players to their squad, and Song fits that status after joining Arsenal as a 17-year-old.
Inter Milan and AC Milan are both reported to be considering an approach for the midfielder.
