Brendan Rodgers has reiterated Leicester City's stance on Chelsea target Wesley Fofana.
Although the Foxes are still yet to make a signing this summer, a number of their first-team regulars could follow Kasper Schmeichel out of the exit door after the goalkeeper ended his 11-year stay to join Nice.
James Maddison, Harvey Barnes and Jamie Vardy have all been linked with summer departures, while Fofana is reportedly being targeted by Chelsea.
Rodgers was questioned by reporters about the futures of Fofana and Maddison ahead of Leicester's season opener against Brentford.
In response, Rodgers stated: "These players are not for sale. These are very important players to us.
"We're in a situation where we need to move some players out but that doesn't mean getting rid of anyone and everyone, and especially not our best assets.
"You don't want to lose your top players, this is something that the club are very strong on. At this moment in time, James and Wesley are training very hard and getting ready for our game on Sunday."
Fofana, who has five years remaining on his contract, could feature in central defence against Brentford on Sunday. body check tags ::
