Roma centre-back Antonio Rudiger will reportedly fly to England next week to complete his move to Chelsea.
The 24-year-old, who is currently with the Germany squad at the 2017 Confederations Cup, has been strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge over the last couple of days.
According to Sky Sports News, Roma have accepted an offer of £33m for the centre-back, who will travel to Chelsea on Tuesday to undergo a medical ahead of signing a long-term contract with the Premier League champions.
Southampton's Virgil van Dijk and Juventus's Leonardo Bonucci have been strongly linked with Chelsea this summer as head coach Antonio Conte looks to improve his centre-back options for the new campaign.
However, it is understood that Conte has become frustrated in his pursuit of the duo, and has now turned to Rudiger after the departures of John Terry and Nathan Ake.
The Blues, however, have reportedly suffered a blow in their pursuit of Juventus left-back Alex Sandro, who is said to be preparing to sign a new contract in Turin.
