Southampton have completed the signing of Chelsea's Spanish midfielder Oriel Romeu on a three-year deal.
The 23-year-old, who is a product of Barcelona's youth academy, joined Chelsea in 2011 but struggled to break into the first team.
He spent on time on loan with Valencia and Stuttgart, before joining the Saints for a fee reported to be around £5m.
"I think it's good to have a coach who wants to play football and do the right things," Romeu told Southampton's official YouTube channel.
"When I spoke with [Ronald Koeman], he more or less told me exactly what I was looking for and the style of play I've been looking for. The style from the Barcelona academy is one I feel very comfortable with. I think it's the best one to reach the team goals in the long term.
"That's what I was looking for when I came here - a coach like him who can teach me a lot. He knows life as a player, and it will be very good for me to work under Koeman."
Romeu has represented Spain at various youth levels, but is yet to win a senior cap.
