Sunderland have announced the signing of Chelsea defender and Senegal international Papy Djilobodji in an £8m deal.
The 27-year-old has put pen to paper on a four-year contract at the Stadium of Light and becomes David Moyes's first signing as Black Cats manager since being appointed two weeks ago.
Having begun his career in Senegal with ASC Saloum, Djilobodji has played the majority of his football in France with Nantes, before heading to Stamford Bridge last summer.
He then joined Werder Bremen on loan in January 2016, scoring twice in 14 Bundesliga games, including a crucial late winner that ensured that they avoided relegation on the final day of the season.
Djilobodji has been capped 13 times by Senegal and appeared at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
