Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly lining up an offer for Nottingham Forest attacker Brennan Johnson.
The 22-year-old was in impressive form for the Reds during the 2022-23 campaign, scoring 10 goals and registering three assists in 44 appearances in all competitions.
Johnson netted eight times in the Premier League, and there has been a host of speculation surrounding his future during this summer's transfer window.
Brentford, Aston Villa and West Ham United have been linked with the Wales international, who has been with Forest since the age of eight.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have recently been credited with an interest in the forward, with Forest bracing themselves for offers in the final stages of the summer transfer window.
According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham are now preparing to make a bid for Johnson, who is valued by Forest at £50m.
Steve Cooper's side have allegedly turned down offers in excess of £35m for the forward this summer and will refuse to sell unless their valuation is met.
Johnson would reportedly prefer to move to Spurs over Chelsea if given the chance, believing that he would secure more game time by making the switch to North London.
Tottenham are believed to be unwilling to pay £50m in cash but could reach that figure by offering players in exchange, with Davinson Sanchez a possible makeweight.
Johnson played a leading role in Forest securing a return to the Premier League, scoring 16 Championship goals during an excellent 2021-22 campaign.
The forward then proved himself in England's top flight last term, while he has featured twice during the new Premier League season, playing against Arsenal and Sheffield United.
Johnson is also set to be involved in Forest's Premier League clash with Manchester United on Saturday despite the speculation surrounding his future.
Tottenham are looking to bring in attacking reinforcements before the end of the transfer window following the recent sale of Harry Kane to Bayern Munich.
Ange Postecoglou's side, who beat Man United 2-0 in the league on Saturday, have signed James Maddison, Pedro Porro, Micky van de Ven, Dejan Kulusevski, Guglielmo Vicario, Alejo Veliz, Ashley Phillips and Manor Solomon during a busy transfer market. body check tags ::
