Chelsea are reportedly preparing to reward Trevoh Chalobah with a new deal at Stamford Bridge owing to his impressive performances.
The centre-back is enjoying a breakthrough campaign under Thomas Tuchel this season and already has two goals to boast from six Premier League appearances.
Chalobah's current Chelsea deal is due to expire in the summer of 2023, but the 22-year-old can reportedly look forward to new-and-improved terms in the near future.
According to football.london, Chelsea and Chalobah are already close to reaching an agreement over a new deal, with talks going on in the background for some time now.
The defender has spent time out on loan with Huddersfield Town, Ipswich Town and Lorient before forcing his way into Tuchel's plans by starring over 120 minutes in August's Super Cup win over Villarreal.
Chalobah has made nine appearances for the Blues in all competitions this season, playing the full 90 in each of Chelsea's last three Premier League games. body check tags ::
