Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel has reportedly intervened in a desperate attempt to keep Thiago Silva at the club for at least another season.
The Brazilian centre-back was rumoured to be on the brink of penning a one-year deal with Chelsea after his PSG contract came to an end this week.
However, after playing a huge part in the French giants' run to the Champions League final, L'Equipe reports that Tuchel is not ready to let Silva leave without a fight.
The PSG boss is rumoured to have told the club to offer Silva fresh terms, leaving the 35-year-old with a big decision to make.
Speaking after the 1-0 Champions League final loss to Bayern Munich, the former AC Milan defender said his goodbyes to PSG's supporters and hinted at a move elsewhere.
A separate report indicates that Chelsea are prepared to pay Silva more than £100,000 a week in wages to persuade him to join.
