A second-half Lucas Castro goal gave Chievo a 1-0 victory over Torino at the Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi this evening.
Both Castro and Sergio Pellissier had chances to put the home side into the lead in the first half but could not execute their opportunities, while Torino's Josef Martinez caused minimal threat with a shot from outside the box flying high and wide in an otherwise quiet opening period.
The second half was a little brighter with action near goal, with both Alberto Paloschi and Perparim Hetemaj having shots saved early on by Daniele Padelli.
Chievo keeper Albano Bizzarri was called into action when Kamil Glik shot at goal with just over 30 minutes remaining, but was able to keep the ball out of his net.
The home side took the lead with 15 minutes to go, with Castro firing in from outside the box after latching on to a headed ball from Riccardo Meggiorini to give Chievo a narrow win and the jump into Serie A's top four.
