Defender George Elokobi has admitted that it was a "no-brainer" to make his return to Colchester United.
The former Wolverhampton Wanderers left-back ended the last campaign at Oldham Athletic, where he made 24 appearances, but after his release from Boundary Park, he was approached by manager Tony Humes.
The 29-year-old told the club's official website: "It is a massively different club, with much better facilities, and from when the manager told me he wanted me to come and sign, it was a no-brainer for myself."
Elokobi has signed a two-year deal at Colchester, who were his first professional club between 2004 and 2008.
