Colchester United have announced the signing of striker Marvin Sordell on a free transfer.
The 24-year-old was without a club after being released by Burnley at the end of the summer transfer window, despite having two years left on his deal at Turf Moor.
Sordell netted just one goal in 21 appearances for the Clarets.
"Colchester United have signed Marvin Sordell to bolster their forward lines," the club announced on their official website.
"Boss Tony Humes has been hunting for another striker this summer and captured the Premier League experienced Sordell on a permanent contract."
The length of Sordell's contract has not been disclosed.
