Paulo Wanchope has been named Costa Rica head coach on a permanent basis following his spell as caretaker manager.
The former Derby County and Manchester City striker was given the task of guiding the side when Jorge Luis Pinto resigned shortly after the team's successful campaign at the World Cup.
Wanchope has enjoyed six games without a defeat since the tournament in Brazil, and victory in last year's Copa Centroamericana helped the 38-year-old clinch the job for the foreseeable future.
Pinto had used Wanchope as his assistant manager during his time in charge of the squad.
