Anthony Grant has joined Crewe Alexandra on a free transfer after leaving Stevenage at the end of last season.
The 26-year-old, who began his career with Chelsea, had been linked with a number of Football League clubs this summer following his release from Stevenage.
However, Crewe have moved quickly to sign the former Southend United midfielder on a two-year contract ahead of the new season.
Grant made 45 appearances for Stevenage last season.
