Croatia boss Slaven Bilic has said that the free kick from which Andrea Pirlo scored against his side should not have been given.
Italy led for much of the encounter after Pirlo put them ahead in the first half, but Croatia striker Mario Mandzukic scored a late goal to tie the score at 1-1 in the Stadion Miejski in Poznan.
"We suffered a lot during the first half," he said.
"Perhaps I am not going to be objective, but the foul which preceded Pirlo's free-kick goal did not exist.
"We came out strong after the break, when I decided to put Ivan Rakitic out on the wing. We started to press and we could have won the match, but I am satisfied."
Bilic and company take on defending champions Spain on Monday in Gdansk.
