Crystal Palace's Michael Olise has been ruled out for an unspecified amount of time with a hamstring injury picked up against Brentford.

The wideman scored twice in that 3-1 win over the Bees on Saturday, but then left the field in some discomfort, after playing the full 90 minutes.

Roy Hodgson said post-match that he did not think the injury would be too serious after speaking with the player himself, but would await the results of a scan.

Now, ahead of Palace's third round FA Cup tie with Everton on Thursday, Hodgson has revealed that Olise will miss the clash with a hamstring issue, and he could not set a timeframe for his recovery.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Hodgson said: "As you saw in the game [vs Brentford], Michael Olise had to come off right at the end. Unfortunately for us, he won't take part in this game [vs Everton]."

Hodgson played down the severity of the issue though, but did not indicate whether he would be ready to face Arsenal in their next league outing.

"We'll have to nurse him through and hope he gets back as soon as possible. For how long is he out? I can't answer that one I'm afraid.

"We're hoping this one is going to be nothing like the one which put him out of the game for six months. We don't think or hope it's going to be like that. It is another little setback." Hodgson added.

Olise has been in electrifying form since returning from a six-month layoff after sustaining a thigh injury over the summer.

Following his return, the winger has scored five and set up another in just seven Premier League starts.

It was his quality that helped Palace to a much-needed win at the weekend, ending an eight-game winless run in the Premier League.

That may also have kept Hodgson in the job, as rumours had intensified that the Brentford match was the manager's last chance to turn their fortunes around.

The 22-year-old made his return from injury against Everton back in early November, but another home clash with the Toffees on Thursday will see him miss out.

Along with Olise, Palace are also set to remain without goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, so Dean Henderson should continue to deputise at Selhurst Park. body check tags ::
