Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha will visit a specialist to determine the extent of the knee injury he suffered during Sunday's 1-1 draw with Newcastle United.
The 25-year-old picked up the problem during a challenge with Ciaran Clark after only three minutes at Selhurst Park, but played on and finished the remainder of the contest.
However, the Eagles are now bracing themselves for bad news regarding their star player, who will learn the severity of the problem in the coming days.
Roy Hodgson's options are already severely limited by injuries, with top-scorer Bakary Sako, Scott Dann and Jason Puncheon having been ruled out for the rest of the season.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek may also need ankle surgery, while Jeffrey Schlupp, Martin Kelly and Julian Speroni are also currently sidelined for Palace.
Should Zaha join that growing list then the Eagles would be left with only Christian Benteke, Andros Townsend and new signing Alexander Sorloth as their available attacking options.
