Barry Bannan has acknowledged the importance of beating Norwich City on New Year's Day in Crystal Palace's push for Premier League survival.
Palace host Chris Hughton's men on Wednesday knowing that victory could potentially see the Londoners move 14th in the table.
The Eagles currently sit outside the relegation zone on goal difference and Bannan believes that survival could hinge on how his team fare against clubs in similar peril.
He told reporters: "The next game is massive. We will be judged on the games against the teams who are around us and Norwich at home is one we expect to get something from.
"With the home crowd behind us and the confidence we have in the squad at the minute we have every reason to look forward with confidence."
Wednesday's encounter is scheduled to kick off at 3pm.
