Crystal Palace boss Dougie Freedman has stated that his side were "fully committed" following their 1-0 win over Cardiff on Tuesday evening.

A first-half Anthony Gardner header was enough to secure a goal advantage in the first leg of their Carling Cup semi-final clash, and Freedman has admitted that he was delighted with the win.

"I thought we were fully committed. Every man played a part in what we done tonight, it was a very proud performance," Freedman told Sky Sports News.

Freedman also said that he was confident ahead of the second leg. "I believe we can go anywhere and win because we've got a team that's set up to win away from home," he explained.

Palace resume domestic duties against Leeds on Saturday afternoon.
