Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway has said that he is "encouraged" by his team's display in their 2-1 defeat to Stoke City.
Palace took the lead in the first half through Marouane Chamakh, but were unable to maintain their advantage and succumbed to goals from Charlie Adam and Ryan Shawcross.
The results means Palace have yet to pick up their first point since returning to the Premier League.
"I'm disappointed for my players, one or two of them were tiring but it was two quick goals," he told Sky Sports News. "We're finding our feet at this level but I was very encouraged by that [performance].
"It was a great finish from Chamakh but unfortunately we couldn't see it through, but that's the Premier League."
Palace travel to Bristol City on Tuesday in the Capital One Cup.
