Crystal Palace caretaker manager Keith Millen has backed the club's decision to target Alan Pardew as a replacement for Neil Warnock.
Pardew's move from Newcastle United to Selhurst Park is expected to be officially announced on Wednesday, and Millen believes that the former Palace midfielder can bring some much-needed stability to the club.
"If Alan gets the job you understand why because of his track record and experience," the temporary Palace boss told reporters.
"I admire his record. I'm not sure how many of the staff he knows, so it would be a new person coming in with new ideas. That always gives the place a lift anyway.
"The background to the club is quite stable, but the manager has changed too many times, without a doubt."
Palace will take on Aston Villa on New Year's Day.
