Crystal Palace have reportedly set their sights on Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo as a possible transfer target.
The Eagles added midfielders Conor Gallagher and Will Hughes to their ranks over the summer, but, after extensive recruitment in attack and defence as well, new manager Patrick Vieira remains keen on further improving the engine room.
According to Football Insider, the London outfit have identified Aribo as a prime target heading into the new year, ahead of a possible swoop in January.
The Scottish giants beat off competition to capture the 25-year-old from Charlton Athletic in 2019, and he has gone on to make 107 appearances for Steven Gerrard's side.
In that spell in Glasgow, the Englishman has netted 19 goals and contributed 17 assists, while he played a starring role in their Scottish Premiership triumph last season, playing in 30 of their 33 league outings as they ended rivals Celtic's nine-year run of winning the top flight.
Such an approach would not be Crystal Palace's first dip into the Scottish market, after French forward Odsonne Edouard arrived for £15m from Celtic in the summer, with the 23-year-old marking his Premier League debut with a brace off the bench in a victory over Tottenham Hotspur. body check tags ::
