Crystal Palace to be joined in Joe Aribo race?

Crystal Palace will reportedly face competition in their pursuit of Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo in the January transfer window.

Crystal Palace have reportedly been joined in the battle to secure the signature of Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo.

During their busy summer in the transfer market, the Eagles were heavily linked with a move for the former Charlton Athletic man, but they may now face a tougher task.

According to Michael Bridge, as quoted by Givemesport, the Englishman has attracted widespread interest this season, giving the Gers a more difficult task to keep their midfielder.

The journalist said: "I'm sure people are watching him. He's a very skilful player. We can question the Scottish Premiership, sure, but he's been brilliant in the Europa League. He's got European experience and played in countless Old Firm games. The Motherwells, Hearts' and Aberdeens away aren't as done and dusted as people think."

With Patrick Vieira adding to his defensive ranks with Joachim Andersen and Marc Guehi and the attacking options with Odsonne Edouard and Michael Olise in the summer, the London club are said to have prioritised a midfielder as their next spot to improve, and they still reportedly see Aribo as a prime target.

The 25-year-old was snared by Steven Gerrard's side in 2019, and he has now made 110 appearances for the Scottish giants, netting 19 goals and providing 17 assists in that time. body check tags ::
