Crystal Palace sporting director Iain Moody has said that the deal to sign Thomas Ince from Blackpool for the rest of the season is "in the balance".
The 22-year-old winger reportedly completed a medical on Thursday and is currently at the Premier League club's training ground.
However, Blackpool owner Karl Oyston is now being hesitant on the loan deal, which will see his club paid £1m for the England Under-21 international's services.
"It's still in the balance," Moody told the London Evening Standard.
"Ultimately we can't control what Blackpool want to do - Oyston is the man who has the whole deal in his hands.
"If we get to 10pm and nothing is decided, then he will be left with a choice of not keeping Tom or letting him come to us for a good chunk of money."
Ince's contract with Blackpool runs out at the end of the season.
