Bristol City have announced that they have had a bid accepted for Crystal Palace striker Dwight Gayle.
Robins manager Steve Cotterill confirmed the development in the wake of his side's Capital One Cup defeat at the hands of Luton Town.
"We've had a bid accepted and that's as far as it's gone," Cotterill told the club's official website.
"We need to speak to the player and his agent. I don't think anything has changed whilst we've been playing so maybe we'll know more on Wednesday. He's someone we'd like to have at the football club."
Bristol City are believed to have offered £6m for Gayle, which would make him their record signing if the deal goes through.
