Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has rejected recent transfer rumours by claiming that "false information" is doing the rounds.
The club have been linked with a number of players, including Charlie Austin, Emmanuel Adebayor, Simone Zaza and Jonjo Shelvey.
While Pardew has admitted that he is "looking" at a handful of targets, he has distanced himself from some of the names that have been touted as potential arrivals.
"I've seen all the names that have been linked with us and not one of them is true," Pardew said in Thursday's press conference. "Perhaps someone is giving out false information. We are looking at one or two, but not them.
"We all know the prize of staying in the Premier League this summer, so all the clubs will make a move who need to. There's less pressure on us.
"[Chairman] Steve Parish and myself are in contact every day talking about the issues we have. This market will be very very difficult. Not just for me, but for all Premier League teams. I just want them to be good enough to play for Crystal Palace. What's the point in bringing in strikers that aren't better than the ones I've got?"
Palace are currently seventh in the Premier League table
