Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has claimed that he is in the dark over reports that the club are in talks with Dwight Gayle over a new contract.
The Premier League club were willing to sell the 24-year-old in the summer after accepting a bid from Bristol City.
However, Gayle turned the Championship club down and has since impressed for the Eagles, leading to reports that they are close to agreeing a new deal.
When asked about the reports in today's press conference, Pardew said: "It's not something I'm aware of. We obviously have to keep an eye on players' contracts as they run down, but I think we are pretty comfortable where we are."
Gayle's current terms expire in 2017.
