Dallas technical director Fernando Clavijo has quashed reports suggesting that the MLS outfit have offered AC Milan midfielder Michael Essien a contract at the club.
It was claimed in the Italian media last week that the former Chelsea star could make a move to the United States when his current deal at San Siro expires this summer.
However, Dallas is not likely to be Essien's next destination, with last season's beaten playoff semi-finalists all but ruling out a switch.
Asked if a contract had been offered, Clavijo told Dallas Morning News: "No, it's not accurate. No, it's not at all. We know Michael Essien of course. Everybody knows him, but we didn't offer anything at all."
The 32-year-old has struggled to settle at Milan since joining from Chelsea last year, starting just five Serie A games under manager Filippo Inzaghi this campaign.
