Republic of Ireland centre-back Sean St Ledger has begun a trial period with MLS outfit DC United.
The 30-year-old was released by Leicester City at the end of last season and he has spent part of the current campaign with Ipswich Town, although he did not make a competitive appearance for the Tractor Boys.
However, the defender has now been offered the chance to earn himself a permanent deal with United, who have just started their pre-season training.
St Ledger has been capped 37 times by Ireland at senior international level.
