Former Denmark coach Richard Moller Nielsen has died at the age of 76 following a long-term battle with illness.
The Dane, who struggled to return to health after undergoing surgery for a brain tumour over the summer, passed away on Thursday evening.
Nielsen is best known for guiding Denmark to their famous 1992 European Championship victory, their only major trophy to date.
Denmark, who gained entry to the tournament at the last minute when Yugoslavia were forced to withdraw, defeated Germany 2-0 in the final.
Nielsen went on to coach Finland and Israel at international level before retiring from football.
