Preview: Group B - Denmark vs. Germany

1992 European Championship winners Denmark will be aiming to repeat their giant-killing past when they face Germany in Lviv tonight. Sports Mole previews the action.

Denmark go into tonight's clash with Germany aiming to complete the great escape from the 'group of death'.

Morten Olsen's side must better the result of Portugal, who face the Netherlands in Kharkiv, if they are to defy their pre-tournament odds and make the last eight.

Ultra-effient Germany need only a point to guarantee that they top the group and, therefore, face Greece in the quarter-finals.

If Denmark and Portugal were both to win then, with three teams all on six points, group order would be settled based on how the group would look if all the games featuring the Netherlands were discounted.

Germany have won 13 consecutive competitive matches, however they have not beaten Denmark in their last three meetings - losing twice.

Joachim Low may decide to take a risk and field some of the fringe players within his squad in order to rest his stars for the quarter-finals, which begin on Thursday.

Low will be forced into making one change at least as Jerome Boateng is suspended after picking up back-to-back yellow cards.

Olsen will definitely be without injured winger Dennis Rommedahl, while Niki Zimling is also doubtful and will face a late fitness test.
