Denmark international Jakob Poulsen has finalised a move to French club Monaco.
The 28-year-old, who was part of the Denmark squad that was recently knocked out of Euro 2012, had been plying his trade in his homeland with FC Midtjylland.
Having agreed a three-year deal with his new employers, the full-back has revealed that he is determined to help Monaco gain promotion back to Ligue 1.
"It's a big step in my career," Poulsen told the club's official website. "I am joining a big club, even though Monaco are in Ligue 2 at the moment.
"A few years ago they were one of the best clubs in Europe and I know their ambition is to get back to that level.
"It will take time, but it is a big challenge."
Poulsen has made 24 appearances for the Danish national side.
