A Sam Vokes penalty just before half time has given Burnley a 1-0 lead over Doncaster Rovers at the Keepmoat Stadium this evening.
Federico Macheda had the first chance of the game, but Tom Heaton was on hand to make a comfortable save for the visitors.
Burnley had few chances in the opening half-hour, resulting in Ben Mee trying an ambitious effort from 40 yards out, which cleared the crossbar.
Kieran Trippier made a strong run down the wing before looking to set up Vokes for the visitors, but the striker was unable to find the target, while James Coppinger came close moments later for the home side on the counter-attack.
However, Vokes was brought down in the box just before half time, giving Burnley a chance from the spot, which the forward slotting into the bottom left.
