Richie Wellens has signed an 18-month contract with Championship club Doncaster Rovers.
The 33-year-old was already at the club for the first half of the season after signing a short-term deal in the summer, but now has made his second spell with Rovers a more permanent one by committing until the end of next season.
In a club statement, Donny said that Wellens had been "instrumental" so far this term, and chief executive Gavin Baldwin added: "This is great news for everyone involved and a clear signal of the owners intent for the future of Doncaster Rovers."
Central midfielder Wellens scored nine times in 86 appearances in his first stint with the Yorkshire side between 2007 and 2009.
They are currently in the Championship's relegation zone after a winless December.
