Dundee United have taken 10 points from their last four games under Robbie Neilson.

Dundee United have the perfect opportunity to show how far they have come under Robbie Neilson when they face Ross County.

A 5-1 home defeat by County on September 29 cost Csaba Laszlo his job and United suffered another loss against Ayr seven days later.

But the appointment of Neilson has sparked a revival with 10 points from four Ladbrokes Championship matches and the former Hearts head coach wants his side to make amends to their fans for that crushing defeat.

“It’s a big game but, like the cliche goes, they are all big games,” he said.

“It’s three points and it’s about trying to keep consistency going and trying to keep winning football matches.

“But we obviously know the previous game against Ross County at Tannadice was a difficult one for the club, we got turned over. So now we need to go up there and make amends for that.

“We are going to take a big support up there which will be great for the players and the atmosphere. It’s an opportunity to right the wrong from earlier in the season.”

Neilson, who has doubts over defenders Freddie Frans (calf) and Callum Booth (hamstring), added: “The fans will be expecting a different game. There’s more than 1,000 travelling up which is phenomenal.

“I think if you’d asked them five weeks ago whether they would be making the journey to Dingwall this Saturday, I don’t think there would be any going up.

“It shows the spirit the club has got now. The players have brought that with their energy but also the fans have given us their support. That will generate the energy the players need up there and I know, having seen the players train this week, they are ready for it.”

Leaders Ayr will be missing Jamie Adams (knock) and Andy Geggan (illness) when they host Queen of the South.

Falkirk skipper Aaron Muirhead has been ruled out for four to six weeks with an ankle injury ahead of the derby trip to Dunfermline but Paul Paton returns to the squad. Lewis Martin could come back for the Pars but Tom Beadling and Louis Longridge are doubts.

Chris Millar might have a chance of returning as Morton host Alloa, while Partick Thistle look to bounce back from their thrashing at Cappielow when they host unbeaten Inverness.
