Danny Swanson's agent has confirmed that his client has agreed to join Peterborough United.
The 25-year-old was a free agent after he decided not to renew his contract with Scottish Premier Division side Dundee United.
A number of English clubs were believed to be keen on the attacking midfielder, including Brighton and MK Dons.
However, according to agent John Viola, Peterborough have won the race.
"Danny will travel to Peterborough this midweek to have his medical," Viola told the Peterborough Evening Telegraph. "If there are no problems he will sign a two-year contract with Peterborough.
"Peterborough will have themselves a fine player. He could have signed for several other clubs, but he liked what Peterborough had to say and they have said they will play him in an attacking midfield role which is what he wants."
Swanson made over 100 appearances for the Terrors.
