Rab Douglas believes that the Dundee fans can help the players stay in the SPL this season.

Dundee goalkeeper Rab Douglas has said that the support from the crowd will help the club remain in the Scottish Premier League after being voted in to replace Rangers.

Dundee drew their first game in the SPL 0-0 with Kilmarnock, and Douglas was quick to praise the support from the crowd.

"We were set up as a team to make an impact in the First Division, but after being invited in the boys have very much held their own," stv.tv quotes Douglas as saying. "It is now up to us to maintain it.

"It was brilliant to be back in the SPL after being invited back and hopefully we can bring something to the party.

"If the crowd continue backing us like that then we will be fine."

Douglas has 19 caps for Scotland.
