Nathan Redmond believes that England Under-21s have succeeded in one of their toughest tasks in defeating Germany this evening.
The Norwich City midfielder was among the goals for England in their friendly at the Riverside Stadium, equalising to make it 2-2 before James Ward-Prowse's winner.
With the U21 European Championship finals coming this summer, Redmond insists that the side are in confident mood after their enthralling victory.
He told BT Sport: "We've beaten one of the best teams we will possibly face in this summer's finals. At half time the gaffer let us know that the first half was not good enough. My goal took a bit of a lucky deflection, but I'll take it.
"When we score, we celebrate together. It showed tonight on the pitch."
England will be in the same group as Portugal, Italy and Sweden for the tournament, having gone through qualification unbeaten.
