England Under-21s remain on course for a third straight Toulon Tournament triumph after coming from behind to beat Scotland Under-21s 3-1 in Wednesday's semi-final in Aubagne.

Scotland created the game's first real opening as Oliver Burke outmuscled Jake Clarke-Salter and fired towards goal, only for the ball to strike the woodwork.

Seven minutes later, the Young Lions countered when Eddie Nketiah's cross deflected off Jason Kerr and onto the post, but again the ball bounced away to safety.

The opener came on the half-hour mark as Celtic's Michael Johnston skilfully dribbled past two England players before surging clear of Jonjoe Kenny and rifling past goalkeeper Freddie Woodman.

Aidy Boothroyd's charges struck back early in the second half, however, as Nketiah crossed for Everton's Callum Connolly to tap home.

The Arsenal starlet then turned goalscorer on 50 minutes, weaving through the Scotland defence before rifling past Robby McCrorie and into the far corner of the net.

The turnaround was completed 11 minutes from time as Nketiah once again surged through the opposition backline and curled home an impressive left-footed finish.

England will take on Mexico, who beat Turkey 3-1 in the other semi-final, in Saturday's showpiece, which kicks off at 5.30pm BST.

Scotland, who lost to England at the same stage a year ago, will face the Turks in the third-place playoff on Saturday, which kicks off at 3pm BST.
