Saido Berahino is a major doubt for England Under-21s' opening U21 Euro 2015 group-stage clash against Portugal this evening due to an injury sustained in training.
The West Bromwich Albion forward was expected to lead the line for the Young Lions, as he did in their final warm-up game against Belarus Under-21s last week.
However, Berahino may be forced to sit out the match against one of the tournament favourites due to the problem picked up in England's final training session.
It is claimed by the Daily Mail that Manchester United's Jesse Lingard is on standby to come in and deputise should he be required.
England boss Gareth Southgate is already without central defender John Stones, who has been ruled out of his side's opening two games through concussion.
