Members of the England squad will visit Schindler's factory and the former Nazi death camp at Auschwitz ahead of Euro 2012.

Members of the England squad will visit the former Nazi death camp at Auschwitz ahead of Euro 2012.

Players will sign the guest book at Poland's Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum before lighting a candle of remembrance on the train tracks at Birkenau.

Other squad members will go to Schindler's factory in Krakow, where Oskar Schindler helped save over a thousand Jewish people from the death camps.

Later this week senior players and staff will also speak to Holocaust survivors Zigi Shipper and Ben Helfgott MBE in Britain.

The plans are part of a partnership between the FA and the Holocaust Educational Trust to produce an educational resource on the Holocaust for all English secondary schools and colleges.

FA chairman David Bernstein said: "This educational partnership brings together the important work of teaching future generations about the horrors of the Holocaust, using the ability of football to interest and engage young people.

"There are so many lessons to be learnt and understood, and we believe football can play its part in encouraging society to speak out against intolerance in all its forms.

"I am proud that Roy Hodgson and the England team are supporting such an important initiative and I would encourage all English schools to take advantage of the learning materials that will be created."

It is estimated that more than one million people were killed at the Auschwitz camp.
