Wayne Rooney only has himself to blame for missing out on England's Euro 2012 opener with France, according to Valencia defender Adil Rami.
Rami slams Rooney actions

France defender Adil Rami has no sympathy for England striker Wayne Rooney for getting himself suspended for the first two Euro 2012 matches.

Rooney was sent off in the Three Lions' final qualification match for kicking out at Macedonia's Miodrag Dzudovic, and was subsequently handed a two-match ban. England prepare to take the field against Les Bleus without the Manchester United striker, and the Valencia centre-back says that Rooney only has himself to blame.

Roy Hodgson's side are also without Frank Lampard, Gareth Barry and Gary Cahill, who all miss out of Euro 2012 due to injury, but Rami insists that the French still won't take England lightly.

"If [Wayne] Rooney can't play it's his own fault. He himself looked for it in qualification, and there is no problem for France. We are concentrated on our own job," Rami told Goal.com.

"There is too much talk about the England players who are out injured, but we won't relax at all in this match.

"The game against England will require an enormous effort physically. The team that defends best will win the game and I am confident that will be France, although it won't be easy at all."

England face France in their Group D opener at 5pm (GMT) on Monday evening.
