England manager Roy Hodgson believes that Jack Wilshere will go on to become a key member of the midfield for many years to come.
The Arsenal midfielder scored his first two goals for the Three Lions with a brace in the 3-2 win over Slovenia in Euro 2016 qualifying.
Hodgson believes that the 23-year-old is beginning to flourish in a deeper midfield role.
"I'm very happy with Jack and the goals he's scored," the England boss told London 24.
"In particular, I am happy with his performance. In the second half he was controlling that midfield, it was a performance we've seen from him for a while now.
"If we can keep him fit and he can get plenty of Premier League matches and international matches, at his young age we think we've got a good player going forward."
Wilshere has won 28 caps for England.
