Ross Barkley has admitted that he fulfilled a "dream" by scoring for England in their 6-0 win over San Marino.
The Everton midfielder scored his first international goal for the Three Lions, who sealed qualification for Euro 2016 next summer.
Speaking afterwards, Barkley struggled to hide his delight after finding the back of the net for England.
He is quoted by the Liverpool Echo as saying: "I am delighted to get my first goal. It has been a dream from when I was a youngster to get my first goal for England.
"But the main thing was getting the three points, qualifying and getting through the group.
"It meant everything for me to start the game. It was a great cross by Alex (Oxlade-Chamberlain) and I got into the box and finished it off."
England can win Group E if they beat Switzerland at Wembley on Tuesday.
