Jonjo Shelvey has revealed that England manager Roy Hodgson wants the team to win every game in qualification for Euro 2016.
The Three Lions have a perfect record in Group E, having won all six of their qualifiers so far, and could book their place at next summer's finals in France with three games to spare if they beat San Marino on Saturday.
Shelvey has said that Hodgson told the players in a team meeting that he wants to keep that record intact.
"Hopefully we can go out and do that," the Swansea City midfielder told BBC Sport. "There's no reason why we can't. I think we've got the ability.
"Beating San Marino and Switzerland would take the pressure off the team and get us ready for the European Championship, but I don't think Roy wants us to take that pressure off.
"He's always pushing for the next step so hopefully we can go out and win that first game and then that gives us a great stepping stone for Switzerland."
England face Switzerland at Wembley three days after playing San Marino.
