How could England, Scotland and Wales line up without ESL players?

International managers are little more than a month away from naming their squads for this summer's rearranged European Championship.

UEFA is considering banning European Super League players from international competitions, including Euro 2020, as part of sanctions against the 12 clubs involved in proposals.

With England, Scotland and Wales little more than a month away from naming their squads for the rearranged European Championship, the managers are now facing the prospect of potentially losing star players.

Here, the PA news agency takes a look at who might line up for the three nations if Super League players were to be banned.

ENGLAND

Harry Kane and Harry Maguire would miss the Euros (Ian Walton/PA)

Potential XI: Pickford (Everton), Cash (Aston Villa), Mings (Aston Villa), Coady (Wolves), Cresswell (West Ham), Phillips (Leeds), Rice (West Ham), Bellingham (Borussia Dortmund), Grealish (Aston Villa), Sancho (Borussia Dortmund), Calvert-Lewin (Everton)

Gareth Southgate's line-up would be almost entirely ripped up, with Jordan Pickford and Declan Rice potentially the only starters to survive. England can say goodbye to their first-choice back four, so too the likes of Jordan Henderson, Mason Mount and Phil Foden ahead of them. World Cup 2018 Golden Boot winner Harry Kane would be left watching from the outside, joining Raheem Sterling and Marcus Rashford. There is some quality in the alternate side but the Three Lions' Euros hopes would be dented dramatically.

WALES

Manchester United's Daniel James and Neco Williams of Liverpool would miss out (Nick Potts/PA)

Potential XI: Hennessey (Crystal Palace), C Roberts (Swansea), Mepham (Bournemouth), J Lawrence (St Pauli), Norrington-Davies (Stoke), Allen (Stoke), Morrell (Luton), J Williams (Cardiff), Brooks (Bournemouth), T Roberts (Leeds), Moore (Cardiff)

Wales' starting line-up would be gutted of key players should members of the 12 breakaway clubs be ruled out of the Euros. From star turn Gareth Bale – on loan from one Super League club, Real Madrid, to another, Tottenham – to Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey and Manchester United winger Daniel James, their options diminish starkly. Joe Rodon, Ben Davies, Neco Williams and Ethan Ampadu are among the others starters that would miss out if a Euros ban is imposed.

SCOTLAND

Scott McTominay would be sorely missed by Scotland at the Euros (Andrew Milligan/PA)

Potential XI: Marshall (Derby), Hanley (Norwich), Hendry (Oostende), Gallagher (Motherwell), O'Donnell (Motherwell), McGregor (Celtic), McGinn (Aston Villa), McLean (Norwich), Taylor (Celtic), Fraser (Newcastle), Adams (Southampton)

Say goodbye to Arsenal's Kieran Tierney, Liverpool star Andrew Robertson and Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay – three key components of Steve Clarke's side that would disappear from contention and leave the team looking light of top-level quality. A penny for the trio's thoughts, too, having helped Scotland reach a first major finals since 1998 and who now face the threat of missing out on the finals due to the decisions of others.
