The Football Association has confirmed that Jack Butland will start for England in Tuesday's friendly with Italy.
On Friday night, Butland watched on as Jordan Pickford got the nod for the friendly with the Netherlands, with the Everton stopper keeping a clean sheet in a 1-0 victory.
However, reports suggested that Stoke City goalkeeper Butland would be preferred against the Azzurri at Wembley Stadium, and the FA has now said that the 25-year-old will get his chance to impress Gareth Southgate.
Butland's progression in the England ranks has been disrupted by injury, with the 25-year-old having suffered a broken ankle and finger over the past two years.
The former Birmingham City man has won six caps since making his debut in 2012.
